Solidarity Requests

Please read the terms below before filling out a request.

The People's Potato accepts solidarity requests to prepare food, snacks, or beverages for events that fall within our mandate of social and environmental justice. In the past, we also lent out our kitchen space to groups so they could cook for their own events, as long as  their events were free of charge.  For now,  lending  our kitchen  space  is on  hold due to lack of resources to  maintain this program, however, we are working on making sure this can  happen again soon. Grassroots events that deal directly with social and environmental justice and community based initiatives are projects that we welcome and support. We also prioritize working in solidarity with those groups that do not have access to the funds to pay for food. We do not work with groups affiliated with a political party or who receive corporate funding.

Please note that we are not a catering company. As such, we do not provide chafing dishes or other hot holding equipment, and cannot stay for your event to serve the food.

While we remain a secular organization, we welcome requests from religious and spiritual groups that are doing social justice work that aligns with our values and mandate.

If your event does not fall within our mandate, we suggest looking into any of these caterers (a big thank-you to Midnight Kitchen for compiling this list).

To submit a request, please download the form below and email it to [email protected].

Please allow at least 14 BUSINESS DAYS  notice for your request to be reviewed, and make the subject of the email "Solidarity Request."

Requests are processed in the order in which they are received, therefore it is possible that short notice requests will not be considered.
